One of the most beautiful places in this country by far! We have travelled there twice now and I would happily give up everything and go and live up there! This place has a special place in my heart, it has something for everyone!
We stayed there for a weekend at a campsite called Cheddar Gorge Touring Park; beautiful campsite with pitches, wigwams and a holiday cottage all on site! Owners are incredibly friendly and run a little shop on site in their reception. It is literally a 5 minute walk from Cheddar Gorge so for once we didn't have to use the car all weekend!
The gorge itself is incredible and fairly accessible too, there are plenty of paths to the top of the gorge including a set of managed stairs (at a cost) and the views are beautiful! The town centre has plenty to do including shops, restaurants, some of the most creative ice cream parlours I have ever seen and plenty of caves and attractions such as a double decker bus tour and rock climbing and abseiling on the gorge itself!
Adam obviously spent most of his time scaling the rocks and ledges and I actually learnt a little bit and done some climbing with him and we found some beautiful wild flowers and caterpillars and I didn't plummet to my death! He makes me do things I never thought imaginable and I'm so lucky to have him by my side to teach me things!
Everyone needs to visit Cheddar; its a special little town.
