Bricket Wood - Ver Valle

Went on an amazing mini adventure today to Bricket Wood. Me and Adam had never heard of this place before but were invited out by his sister Rachael and her family (3 lovely young boys aged between 1 and 6!) Down some very small country lanes we drove hoping that another car doesn’t drive towards us from the opposite way because we had no idea how or where we would be able to pull in. As we rounded a corner and Rachael parked up we parked up beside her to be greeted by a beautiful little stream flowing right in front of us and some stepping stones stretching over it. The river itself is the River Ver and is one of only around 200 chalk streams in the world! Its pure alkaline water supports an unusual mix of flora and fauna. Me, Adam and the 3 boys were straight into the water! Its a beautiful location and looks to be an amazing place for walkers and families, there were lots of footpaths leading off in all different directions and me and Adam definately intend on going back. There was even a rope swing that Adam couldn’t resist from having a go on! Wildlife was rich there too! I saw the most amazing and tiny light blue butterfly hovering around and did manage to get it to land on my hand for a second but not long enough to catch a photo.
